Real-life “Hanten Jutsushiki”! CiRA Director, Jun Takahashi, Utilizes iPSCs for Brain Treatment
Jun Takahashi, the director of Kyoto University's Center for iPS Cell and Application (CiRA) and a prominent figure in Japan’s regenerative medicine field, recently achieved a groundbreaking milestone. His team successfully transformed induced pluripotent stem cells (#iPSCs) into dopamine precursor cells and administered 5 to 10 million of these specialized cells into the brains of trial participants. These cells hold the potential to replace damaged brain cells, potentially mimicking the effects of the "Hanten Jutsushiki" (reverse cursed technique) seen in the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen", where the body undergoes remarkable regeneration.
The highly anticipated #BioJapan, Japan's premier biotechnology exhibition, is slated this Wednesday, October 11th. It promises to unveil the latest developments in regenerative medicine (“Hanten Jutsushiki”). We encourage all interested individuals to attend and witness the advancements firsthand! Our reporter will also provide real-time updates.
