Dr. Pi-Lien Hung, director of the Pediatric Neurology Rare Disease Center at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, stepped into pediatric neurology out of love for children. A chance encounter with a friend-turned-Rett-syndrome parent led her to a lifelong mission.
In 2015, she helped launch Taiwan’s first Rett Syndrome joint clinic in southern Taiwan, improving access to care. She continues to champion early intervention, genetic testing, and long-term support for rare disease families—with unwavering compassion and hope.
