Dr. Shinn-Zong Lin, Director of Hualien Tzu Chi Medical Center, has made history as the first in Taiwan to transplant embryonic neural stem cells into patients with Parkinson’s disease and the first globally to use autologous peripheral blood stem cells for stroke treatment.
 
A leading figure in neurosurgery and stem cell research, Dr. Lin has cultivated a robust team whose groundbreaking work spans Taiwan’s hospitals. Under his leadership, Hualien Tzu Chi secured 13 cell therapy permits following Taiwan’s 2018 Special Act revision, marking significant advancements in regenerative medicine.
