義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處貿易組(ITA)，是義大利的政府組織，負責協助義大利企業的海外商務拓展，並吸引外商投資義大利。

ITA將在今年2023亞洲生技大會組織國家館，以支持這項義大利經濟中的重要產業。醫藥品的外銷對義大利至關重要，在2022年達到470億歐元，對比前一年，成長幅度達到驚人的42.8%。義大利出口至台灣的生物科技及醫藥產品佔了整體對台出口的27%，達6億8千萬歐元。

生物科技以及生命科學市場在全球正處於高度成長的狀態，從2020年的2230億，預期在2028年將達到7310億歐元，多達40%的新藥發明與生物科技相關。根據OCSE歐洲安全與合作組織的預測，在2023年這個比例將高達80%。

這樣的成長便自然吸引更多的投資以支持新產品及新科技的發展。義大利發展多達252種生技藥品，並且得益於對研發的投資，這個數字還將持續成長：在2021年，民間投資在研發上達到了17億歐元。

義大利是歐洲醫藥產業卓越製造的樞紐。2021年義大利的醫藥生產居全歐第一，達333億歐元，共計259間廠商，其中25%的企業同時製造生技藥品，這是義大利企業優越製造能力和靈活度體系下的成果。這同時也得益於義大利的大學體系所培育的專業人才，有17%的畢業生修習了STEM(科學、科技、工程、數學)科目。高達63,000人從事義大利生物科學產業。

PNRR義大利復甦暨韌性計畫撥款了超過120億歐元以支持生物科技的創新關鍵產業：生態轉型、教育、研究和健康。這些政府連同民間的投資，將有利於發展出更加有益於創新的體系。

The Italian Trade Agency is the governmental bureau that supports the business development of Italian companies abroad and promotes the attraction of foreign investment in Italy.

ITA will organize an Italian Pavilion at Bio Asia 2023 to support a crucial sector of the Italian economy. In fact, exports of pharmaceutical products are key for Italy, claiming 47 bln. Euro in 2022, and growing by an impressive +42.8% over the previous year. Biotech and pharmaceutical products account for 27% of total Italian exports to Taiwan at 680 million Euro.

Il mercato delle biotecnologie e delle life sciences è in forte crescita nel mondo: si attende una crescita tra i 223 miliardi nel 2020 ai 731 miliardi nel 228. Il 40% dei nuovi farmaci in sviluppo è collegato alle biotecnologie e, secondo le stime OCSE, questa quota potrebbe raggiungere l’80% entro il 2023.

Questa crescita attira una quantità sempre maggiore di investimenti per sostenere lo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti e nuove tecnologie. In Italia sono disponibili 252 biofarmaci, un numero destinato a crescere grazie agli investimenti in R&D: nel 2021, il settore privato ha investito circa 1.7 miliardi di euro in R&D.

L’Italia è un HUB di produzione di eccellenza nel settore farmaceutico in Europa. Il valore della produzione farmaceutica italiana è il primo in Europa con 33.3 miliardi di euro nel 2021, con 259 imprese coinvolte. Il 25% di queste produce anche farmaci biotech. Questo è il frutto di un sistema di imprese con elevate produttività e flessibilità. Questo anche grazie alle competenze dei lavoratori specializzati prodotti dal sistema universitario italiano. Il 17% dei laureati ha studiato materie STEM (Scienze, Tecnologia, Ingegneria, Matematica) e l’industria italiana del lifescience occupa circa 63.000 addetti.

Il PNRR destina oltre 12 miliardi di euro per sostenere R&D in settori chiave per l’innovazione anche nel campo biotech: Transizione ecologica, Istruzione e ricerca, Salute. Questi investimenti pubblici, insieme agli investimenti privati, favoriranno lo sviluppo di un sistema ancora più favorevole all’innovazione.
